Our next community Wood Firing will take place November 4th-7th. We will need lots of volunteers to complete a successful wood firing! If you would like to put a pot in the kiln, you will need to sign up for a shift. Click the link below to find all the information you will need to participate, and feel free to email us at email@example.com with any questions!
Students who sign up and complete a full 6 hour firing shift are allowed to put up to 3 pots in the firing. Pots may be up to 9"x6"x6" in size.
Students who sign up and complete a full 6 hour firing shift ANDthe prep/orientation on September 25th are allowed to put up to 5 pots in the kiln. Pots may be up to 9"x6"x6" in size.
If you are unable to volunteer for a firing shift, but can come to the prep/orientation event, you are more than welcome to come learn about the wood kiln and benefit from the event, but unfortunately will not be allowed to put pots in the kiln for this firing.
Shift sign ups will be posted in the ceramics studios and online by mid-October.
To ensure your work makes it into the kiln, please make sure your pieces fit the qualifications above, are properly labelled (legible name on the bottom), are bisqued, boxed up with your name on the outside of the box, and placed on the appropriate shelf (this info is to come), all by November 3rd.
