Waulk On Fibers Workshop Series 2023
Hello and thank you for your interest in our workshop series! This workshop series in April through June, will be focused in a variety of fibers topics! We are aiming to host 2-4 workshops per weekend in a range of fibers disciplines & topics. If you are interested in teaching one of these workshops, and have an idea of what might interest you to teach, please fill out the form below! We also welcome and encourage you to share this link with any fibers artists you know who may be interested in either teaching or participating in one of the other many aspects of this event!
The theme of the series this year is
Fibers Traditions as Living Arts
! This encourages you to consider elements of your expertise that are tied to historical traditions, contemporary practices that keep fibers disciplines vital and alive, approaches that are centered in locale (our mid-Missouri region) or material (the living stuff of our literal fibers), or any mix thereof. This theme is designed to be generative, but it is most important that we bring subject experts into contact with our community. We wish to expand our community's horizons of what's possible in fibers, and allow them see the skills that the experts have spent time cultivating.
We encourage artists to bring some of their work in person or as images
to present during the workshop. We anticipate that the audience may be varied in terms of skill, exposure to fibers, and relationship to the formal art world.

What compensation would you expect? *Not including cost of supplies

We intend to pay per hour (length of the workshop) and roughly 1 hour of setup. To be transparent, while we would love to pay presenters amply for their time, we are a small community art school that can't necessarily muster the same funding that a larger institution could for honorariums and travel stipends.
Anything else we should know?

If you would like to propose more than one workshop, we totally welcome it! Just fill out this application again please to ensure we have all the correct details with the correct workshop proposal. If after submission, you have any changes you want to make to your workshop, please send us an email at
accessarts@schoolofservice.org
