Caitlyn is Access Art’s newest Artist in Residence, specializing in ceramics and painting, though her past studio experience has primarily focused on ceramics. Graduating from Goshen College in Indiana with a Bachelors in Fine Arts, Caitlyn then went on to expand not only her studio artist experience, but also her teaching experience. From 2017 to 2019, Caitlyn’s experience extends from an intern to ceramic artist Justin Rothshank, to a studio artist assistant for Goertzen pottery, and even teaching studio art at Fired Arts Studio. With multiple awards and exhibits already under her belt, we are excited to see what Caitlyn creates here at Access Arts.
Nessi Alexander-Barnes Fibers Artist
Nessi is currently Access Arts only Artist in Residence specializing in Fibers. In 2015 Nessi received a BFA in Art and Design, and a BS in Art History from Towson University in Maryland. In 2019, Nessi graduated with a Masters in Fine Arts from the University of Missouri, where they pursued interdisciplinary research, and taught one course each of the seven semesters they spent there. Nessi’s work revolves around making visible their experiences as queer, trans, nonbinary, and neurodivergent. With an already extensive list of exhibitions and awards, Access Arts is anticipating the great work to come during this residency.
