November Session Information - Fibers
Each class meets for 2 hours each week for 6 weeks. Additional open studio time is available to students enrolled in a 6-week class. (If all classes are full, please join the waitlist! It lets us know if we would have enough interest to add another class!) It should be noted that current students have first dibs on the following class session in order to stay on their looms. Due to this system we do not always have available spots in our classes. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we also encourage potential students to sign-up for our topics classes as we can usually offer more spots.
Learn the art of weaving on a variety of table and floor looms; from the simple rigid heddle and inkle to more complex 4-harness looms. The course covers beginning through advanced levels of weaving.
Special Topics with Simple Looms: Inkle Looms
This class is dedicated to learning how to weave on simpler, unharnessed looms: inkle, frame, pin, potholder, & other basic handlooms. Each session will explore a focus topic through the use of one of these looms, & will include learning its basic use. In this class, Students will learn how to to choose yarn for, plan a design for, warp up and use a basic inkle loom!
**Loom & yarn are provided for in-class use, but students are welcome to bring their own supplies or equipment as appropriate for the class. Returning students are welcome; they may choose to do the class’s project or they are welcome to continue working on the styles of loom they have learned in previous classes semi-independently.
Adult General Fibers
In this class you will learn basic fibers skills, including embroidery, bookmaking, and how to incorporate mixed media practices in your designs. No previous experience is required, all skill levels welcome.
Fibers Open Studio Hours
*Instructors are not available for assistance during these times. Students are only allowed to attend Open Studio if they are able to work independently. Students can bring any fibers work to work on.
**We do NOT hold open studio hours during session breaks (you can find these at the bottom of this page)
When inclement weather occurs, class cancelations will be decided by the instructor of the class. If WE cancel any 6-week classes due to weather or COVID-19, they will be made up at a later date. If class is not canceled, but a student feels unsafe traveling, they can stay home, but NO make-up class will be provided. We encourage you to make up any lost time during open studio hours and ask about any material missed during the following class.
Your instructor will contact you if class is canceled. Please make sure they have your correct contact information. If you have any questions about our cancelation policy, please don't hesitate to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
or call us at 573-875-0275.
We frequently offer a limited amount of FREE spots for low-income families or individuals who are interested in any of our programs! If you want to apply for future consideration when spots become available, find more information on how to apply, here!
